Derrek S. Lennox, P.Eng, MBA
Managing Partner, Margin Doctors
Principal Strategist, DSLCS
Part-time Lecturer, MBA-Level, Schulich School of
Business
When it comes to business consulting and servicing
clients, few can rival Derrek’s dedication and
perfectionism. As a licenced professional engineer
with an MBA from the Schulich School of Business at
York University, Derrek co-founded the Margin
Doctors Business & Management Consultants with
Hector F. Dougall to bring his ideals and values to
the consulting world and to better serve clients
with their needs.
Derrek’s background is
diverse. He has built a reputation as a strategy and
operations business and management consultant,
specializing in business planning, organizational
design, performance measures, scorecards, culture
change management, process improvement, and policy
development. He has worked with projects ranging
from Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and
Contact/Call Centre Projects with large corporate
clients, to multinational multi-client strategy
research projects, to strategy and organizational
design projects with entrepreneurial firms. His
experience in the industry, coupled with his love
for business consulting, has led to his
establishment of Derrek S. Lennox Consulting
Services in late 2003, and The Margin Doctors
Business & Management Consultants in 2006.
Derrek’s beliefs are strong. His commentary
on business models with a customer focus has been
published in Business 2.0. He maintains that
business strategies should be focused on delivering
value to the customer and not just on how
organizations can benefit from a given market
condition. By encouraging and nurturing clients
through the development of communication linkages
between the company and its employees, Derrek has
been able to align the goals of the organization
with those of its employees, and thus successfully
improve the effectiveness, efficiency,
profitability, and sustainability of the business.
Derrek is also a Part-time, Seasonal Lecturer at the
Schulich School of Business, where he leads the
MBA-Level course "Restructuring and Turnaround
Management."
